At Sacred Legacy we honour the trust you place in us when you share your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it and how we care for it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

What we collect

  • Order details – your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing address when you buy from our shop.
  • Messages – what you share with us through our contact forms, email or WhatsApp.
  • Newsletter details – your name and email address if you choose to subscribe.
  • Website usage – anonymous information such as pages visited, device type and how you found us, gathered through cookies.

We do not see or store your card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stitch, on their own protected systems.

Why we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your orders.
  • To reply to your messages and enquiries.
  • To send you our newsletter and news of books, retreats and events – only if you have opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To understand how our website is used so we can improve it, and to measure the results of our advertising.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We only share what is needed with trusted service providers who help us serve you:

  • Stitch – secure online payments.
  • The Courier Guy and Pudo – delivery of your order.
  • Mailchimp – our newsletter (only if you subscribe).
  • Google (Analytics and Ads) – anonymous website statistics and advertising measurement.
  • Our website hosting and security providers.

Some of these providers may store information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved on your device that help our website work, remember your cart, and show us how visitors use the site. Google Analytics and Google Ads use cookies to give us anonymous statistics and to measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the shop may not work fully without them.

How we keep it safe and for how long

We use secure (SSL) connections, security software and limited access to protect your information. We keep order records for as long as the law requires (usually five years for tax purposes), and other information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to us using it, and withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. If you feel we have not handled your information respectfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
